Rev. Danny Ray Klutts, 72, formerly of Newbern TN, went home to be with the Lord on July 6 th , 2021, at his
home in Akron OH. He was surrounded by his family. He was born in Dyersburg TN to Alvin Wright Klutts and
Lucille Fitzgerald Klutts on July 27, 1948.
He moved to Orlando FL when he was 9 and he graduated from Evans High School in Orlando FL. He began to
feel the call of the Lord on his life as a teenager.
He served as a Sergeant in the United States Army and served at Fort Bragg from 1969-1972. He served in
military intelligence during the Vietnam War. He then worked with his father, as an engineer at his father’s
firm, AWK Industries, Inc in Orlando FL until he went to Seminary in 1985.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 52 years, Dianne Brackett Klutts of Akron OH, and 3 children;
Kimberly Klutts (Steven) Stewart, Newbern TN; Jonathan Wright (Vickie) Klutts, Norton OH; and Adam Ray
Klutts, Williamsburg VA. He has 6 grandchildren: Zack Young, Noah (Savannah) Stewart, Natalie Klutts, Tyler
Klutts, Bailey Stewart, and Ella Klutts. He also leaves 2 sister-in-laws, Gail (Gerald) Demastus, Ocoee, FL and
Linda Steadward, Groveland, FL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Lucille Klutts, Orlando FL.
Bro. Danny held degrees from Seminole Jr College, New York University, and New Orleans Baptist Theological
Seminary. He served as pastor of Green Baptist Church in Green Ohio for 8 years. And then served as senior
pastor of First Baptist Church of Newbern for 24 and ½ years. He is Pastor Emeritus of Newbern First Baptist
Church.
Danny enjoyed his family, his church and especially his walk with the Lord. He played the guitar, violin, and
drum; loved working on computers, and remodeling. He has been an avid Ham Radio operator since he was 9
and continued to enjoy it his whole life. He painted, and made art from wire. He loved to work in his yard and
garden. He was an encourager to many people.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at First Baptist Church, Newbern TN on Saturday, July 31 st , 2021.
Visitation will be from 1-3 and then his service will be at 3:00 pm. In Lieu of flowers, gifts can be sent to First
Baptist Church Newbern TN Children’s Building Fund in his memory. The address for the church is 114 West
Main St, Newbern TN 38059.
Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of the Newbern First Baptist Church.
