Brenda Sue Campbell, 81, of Hornbeak, Tennessee, died on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Signature Health in Ridgely, Tennessee.
She was born on February 12, 1945, in Lake County, Tennessee, to the late William Harry Tate and the late Ruby Pearl Turner Tate.
Following her graduation, she moved to Chicago, Illinois, where she began a successful career with Motorola. Through her dedication and professionalism, she was later transferred to Memphis, Tennessee, where she served as an office manager. She took great pride in her work and the many friendships she formed throughout her career.
After retiring, Brenda returned home to be closer to the family she loved so dearly. She cherished the simple pleasures of life and found great joy in cooking for those she loved, especially when preparing dishes with a little extra spice. She was always on the lookout for a bargain and delighted in spending time at yard sales, where she enjoyed searching for unique treasures and hidden gems. She had a special place in her heart for animals and was well known for taking in stray dogs and cats, providing them with love, care, and a safe home.
Graveside services for Mrs. Campbell will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 in New Haven Cemetery in Ridgely, Tennessee. Officiating this service will be Rev. Leonard York and Rev. Jeff O'Dell. Family and friends are asked to gather at the cemetery.
She is survived by two brothers, Billy Joe Tate of Obion, Tennessee and and Donnie Lynn Tate of Ridgely, Tennessee four sisters, Carolyn Gatlin of Rogersville, Alabama, Jessica Lee Moore of Ridgely, Tennessee, Sharon Ellen Moore of Ridgely, Tennessee and Nancy Pearl York of Ridgely, Tennessee and a host of nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Patricia Dudley and Linda Faye Smith and four brothers, Carl Ray Tate, Hillman Howard "Buddy" Tate, Marvin Junior Tate, Harry Eugene Tate and Daniel Wayne Tate.
