Bobby Joe Sampson Obituary

Bobby Joe Sampson, 53, of Newbern, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee.

Born on Monday, November 15, 1971, in Dyersburg, Tennessee, Bobby was the son of the late Marvin Joseph Sampson and Linda Kay Chandler Sampson.

Bobby was a self-employed construction worker who took great pride in his craft. As the oldest brother, he was the rock of his family—strong, dependable, and always ready to lend a hand. Though he might have appeared tough on the outside, those who knew him best knew he had a heart of gold. His grandchildren were the light of his life and could always bring a smile to his face. “PePaw” or “Paw,” as they affectionately called him, always made time for them and cherished every moment they shared.

In honor of Bobby's wishes, no services will be held.

He is survived by his son, Brayton Sampson (Dakota) of Dyersburg, Tennessee; his mother, Linda Kay Chandler Sampson of Newbern, Tennessee; and his brothers, Joel Sampson (Gina) of Newbern, Tennessee, and Brent Sampson of Dyersburg, Tennessee; he was the proud grandfather of Ayden and Brilynn Sampson. He also leaves a host of extended family members who loved him dearly.

In addition to his father, Marvin Joseph Sampson,  he was preceded in death by his beloved son, Cam Sampson.
