Bobby Gene "Boobie" Winstead, 64, of Newbern, Tennessee, died on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at his residence.
Born Wednesday, January 24, 1962, in South Fulton, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Billy Lee Winstead and the late Betty Jean Hawks Winstead.
Mr. Winstead was a former employee of World Color Press and Ermco and was known for his “handyman” skills. A mechanic and carpenter, he could fix almost anything and was always willing to help. He had a lifelong passion for cars and racing. He spent a great deal of time at the racetrack and also appreciated hunting, fishing, and spending time with his loved ones.
A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Winstead will be held at a later date.
He is survived by two sons, Jeremy Winstead (Cameron Billman) of Jackson, Tennessee and Joshua Winstead of Newbern, Tennessee; one daughter, Kim Sipes (Chad)of Dyersburg, Tennessee; one brother, Dennis Winstead of Dyersburg, Tennessee and was "Grand-Daddy" to his two grandchildren, Riley Sipes and Gavin Sipes.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandchild, Willie Jaye Winstead.
