Bobbie Ruth Powers, 78, of Dyersburg, Tennessee, died on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at Oakwood Community Living Center in Dyersburg, Tennessee.
Born Thursday, August 8, 1946, in Crockett County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Elmer Hollis and the late Ruthie Floyd Hollis. Mrs. Powers was a homemaker.
Mrs. Powers leaves behind a legacy of kindness, creativity, and joy. She found immense pleasure in crafting, tending to her plants, and challenging her mind with crossword puzzles and word searches. Her warmth and generosity touched the lives of many, and her faith in the Church of Jesus Christ was a guiding light throughout her life.
Funeral services for Mrs. Powers will be held at 2:30 PM on Friday, June 13, 2025, in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be with Bro. Royce McGuire. Interment will follow at Sorrels Chapel Cemetery in Dyersburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM on Friday, June 13, 2025, at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home, in Newbern, Tennessee.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, James "Jimmy" Epperson (Sarah) of Dyersburg, Tennessee and Bubba Epperson of Dyersburg, Tennessee; two daughters, Jeannie Ramey of Dyersburg, Tennessee and Phyllis "Sissy" Eaton (Johnny) of Union City, Tennessee; two sisters, Beverly Marbrey (Ralph) of Dyersburg, Tennessee and Annette Byrds (Mike) of Dyersburg, Tennessee; seven grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren.
Honoring Mrs. Powers as pallbearers will be Harrison Belton, Blake Patterson, Don Sweatt, Peyton Sweatt, Ethan "Chayce" Sweatt and Cayden Edwards.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lonnie and Rose Floyd and Pete and Leola Hollis, her son-in-law, Daniel Ramey and two great-grandsons, Anthony Ramey and Patrick Ramey.
