Billie Foster Pope Wyrick Obituary

Billie Foster Pope Wyrick, 92, of Newbern, Tennessee, died peacefully at her home on Monday, December 2, 2024.

Born Saturday, May 14, 1932, in Dyer County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late David Foster and the late Zuma Binkley Foster. She was a retired self-employed seamstress and homemaker. Mrs. Wyrick was a member of Lemalsamac Church of Christ in Newbern, Tennessee. She will be remembered for her infectious laugh, sweet spirit, quick wit and her love for Dr. Pepper.

Graveside services for Mrs. Wyrick will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, December 6, 2024, at McCorkle Cemetery near Newbern, Tennessee. Officiating the service will be Bro. Perry Grills. Visitation for Mrs. Wyrick will be held from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Friday at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home in Newbern, Tennessee.

She is survived by one son, David Pope of Newbern, Tennessee; one daughter, Vickie Shelton (Donald) of Newbern, Tennessee; she was "Grandmother" to her two grandchildren, Lindsay Shelton and Jeremy Shelton (Destiny) and "Nana" to her seven great grandchildren, Titus Blaine Shelton, Augustus Boone Shelton, Jonas Hawke Shelton, Cypress Hope Shelton, Silas Oake Shelton, Amos Creede Shelton, and Bennett Alfred Elliott. and her friend and faithful caregiver, for eleven years, Karla Scott.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death, by her two husbands, Haywood Pope and Shorty Wyrick and one brother, Milton "Bud" Foster. 

Honoring Mrs. Wyrick as pallbearers will be family and friends.
