Billie Dale Joslin, 86, of Newbern, Tennessee, died on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at Okeena Health and Rehabilitation in Dyersburg, Tennessee.
Born on Thursday, March 16, 1939, in Dyer County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Self and the late Blanche Williams Self.
Billie Dale was a proud 1957 graduate of Newbern High School, where she played basketball for the Choctaws. Her love for her alma mater continued throughout her life and she remained a loyal and devoted supporter of Dyer County Athletics. She devoted many years to caring for children, serving as a trusted childcare provider who touched countless young lives with her kindness, patience, and gentle spirit. Her influence and compassion will be forever remembered by the children she cared for and their families. A woman of faith, Billie was a longtime member of the Main Street Church of Christ in Newbern, Tennessee.
Graveside services for Mrs. Joslin will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Fairview Cemetery in Newbern, Tennessee. Officiating the service will be Mr. Sean Sullivan.. Family and friends are asked to gather at the cemetery.
She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Mark Joslin (Cindy) of Danville, Kentucky and Kirk Joslin of Newbern, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Tay Joslin (Amanda) of Clarksville, Tennessee, Courtney Justice (Kris) of Ashland City, Tennessee, Chloe Stout (Jacob) of Danville, Kentucky, Karli Corker (Devin) of Huntsville, Alabama and Cannon Joslin of Clarksville and nine great-grandchildren,
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Allen Joslin and one sister, Jo Gwendolyn Self.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorial contributions be directed to Main Street Church of Christ, 306 West Main Street, Newbern, Tennessee 38059 or the Dyer County Community Cancer Fund, P. O. Box # 1055, Dyersburg, Tennessee 38024.
