Beverly Ann Volner, 70, of Newbern, Tennessee, died on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee.
Born Sunday, September 9, 1954, in Dumas, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late James E. Howerton and the late Mary E. Helton Howerton. Mrs. Volner was a retired employee of Marrs Laundry in Dyersburg, Tennessee. Beverly was known for her joyous personality, infectious smile and devotion to her family. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing bingo and watching wrestling, where sometimes she was known to carry a bat to defend her favorite wrestler.
Funeral services for Mrs. Volner will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 28, 2024, in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Bro. Jackie Goad. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Newbern, Tennessee. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of fifty years, Virgil Volner of Newbern, Tennessee; one son, Vernon Volner (Jill) of Newbern, Tennessee; one daughter, Tonya Harris of Newbern, Tennessee: three sisters, Sharon Hawkins (Jay) of Newbern, Tennessee, Hazel Harris of Dyersburg, Tennessee and Anita Carroll of Dyersburg, Tennessee; one brother, James Howerton of Marianna, Arkansas and she was "Mamaw" to her six grandchildren, Keri Shaw (Chase), Deci Volner, Jacob Volner, J. T. Volner, Deshea Harris and Kylee Volner and five great-grandchildren and her beloved fur baby, Penny.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Betty Hart, Kathy Howerton and Thace Howerton.
Honoring Mrs. Volner as pallbearers will be Jacob Volner, Chase McCoy, Stevie Hawkins, J. T. Volner, James Wiggins and Troy Tucker.
