Betty Jean Scobey, 95, of Trimble, Tennessee died on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at West Tennessee Healthcare-Dyersburg Hospital in Dyersburg, Tennessee.
Born Friday, February 7, 1930, in Dyersburg, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late James Ethridge Boyd and the late Cordelia Spelling Boyd.
Betty was known for her sweet spirit, gentle nature, and the most precious smile and laugh that could light up any room. She was a retired employee of All Wear Manufacturing in Newbern, Tennessee, where she worked with dedication and pride. Outside of her career, Betty was a member of Trimble Methodist Church.
Graveside services for Mrs. Scobey will be held at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Cool Springs Cemetery. Officiating this service will be Rev. John Lowrance. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, William Sidney Scobey of Trimble, Tennessee, one grandson, William Clint Scobey of Trimble, Tennessee, great granddaughter, Blakely Scobey.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William Samuel "Sam" Scobey and one sister, Guy Eula Grills.
Honoring Mrs. Scobey as pallbearers will be Bruce Pope, Brian Pope, Robert Pope, Richard Wilkerson, David Norsworthy and Jim Scott.
