Betty Jean Adkins, most fondly known as "Granny" 79 of Dyersburg, Tennessee died on Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at AHC of Dyersburg in Dyersburg, Tennessee.
Born, December 16, 1941, in Dyersburg, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Eugene Woodrow Adkins and the late Bobbye Thurmond Adkins. Mrs. Adkins was a retired employee of the Dyersburg Wal-Mart, where she worked for many years at the service desk.
Funeral services for Mrs. Adkins will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 21, 2021 in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Rev. Travis Davison. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg, Tennessee. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Angie Phillips (Scott) of Dyersburg, Tennessee; one son, Mike Adkins (Lavenia) of Mississippi; her significant other, Terry Riggs of Dyersburg, Tennessee and six grandchildren, Amanda Veteto (Ryan), Allison Elmore (Joe), Christina Burns (Garrett), Kayla Adkins (Jeremy), Emily Cabaniss (Trey) and Michael Adkins and ten great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Jacqueline Ann Adkins; one brother, Benny Adkins and one great-grand-daughter, Sophia Elmore.
Honoring Mrs. Adkins as pallbearers will be members of the Mid South Riders-David Dunn, Justin Decker,Heath Gray,Denver Bennett,Jay Litchford,Mark Weichlein,Chad Milner, and Kevin Hubble. Honorary pallbearers Larry Smith and Everett Barrett.
