Betty J. Thrasher, 80, of Tiptonville, Tennessee died on Friday, December 26, 2025, at Signature Health in Ridgely, Tennessee.
She was born on October 1, 1945, in Lake County, Tennessee, to the late William Herbert Sanders and the late Margaret Runions Sanders.
Betty will be remembered for her kind spirit and the simple joys that brought her happiness. She found great peace in fishing, often enjoying the quiet moments it provided and the memories made along the way.
Betty cherished time spent with her family, especially gathering together for cookouts filled with laughter, good food, and togetherness. Those moments meant the world to her and created lasting memories for everyone who shared them.
She also loved listening to country music, finding comfort and enjoyment in its familiar melodies and heartfelt stories. Whether relaxing at home or spending time outdoors, music was often a part of her days.
Funeral services for Mrs. Thrasher will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, December 29, 2025, at the Calvary Baptist Church. Officiating this service will be Bro. Carl Southerland. Interment will follow in New Haven Cemetery in Ridgely, Tennessee. Visitation will be held on Monday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the Calvary Baptist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Sherry Thompson of Tiptonville, Tennessee; one brother, Williams Sanders of Ridgely, Tennessee; one sister, Sherry Burkett of Ridgely, Tennessee; three grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Thrasher; one son, John Lee Cole and four sisters, Mary Ann Reynolds, Zada Copeland, Peggy Ellsworth and Brenda Sanders.
Honoring Mrs. Thrasher as pallbearers will be Harley Copeland, Bobby Jones, Matthew Jones, Rick Floyd, Tim Phillips and Zach Copeland. Honorary pallbearers will be Dalton Dial and Gene Mills.
