Betty Ames Rasberry

Betty Ames Rasberry, 77, of Martin, Tennessee died on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at West Tennessee Healthcare Volunteer Hospital in Martin, Tennessee.

Born Tuesday, April 2, 1946, in Dyer County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late William Woodrow Ames and the late Opal King Miller Newell. Mrs. Rasberry was an LPN for thirty-two years at Volunteer-Tennova Hospital in Martin, Tennessee.

Graveside services for Mrs. Rasberry will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Poplar Grove Cemetery in Newbern, Tennessee. Officiating this service will be Mr. Robert Smith. Visitation for Mrs. Rasberry will be held from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home in Newbern, Tennessee.

She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Tommy Rasberry of Martin, Tennessee; two daughters, Sharon "Sherry" Rasberry Smith (Robert) of Lima, Ohio and Sandy J. Rasberry of Erlanger, Kentucky; one brother, Paul Ames of Dyersburg, Tennessee; one sister, Peggy Gamble of Memphis, Tennessee; six grandchildren, Morgan Smith, Brandon Rasberry, Collin Smith, Deven Nelson, Tanner Lutz and Addison Lutz.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Glenn Rasberry one son, David Alan Rasberry: one brother, Dewitt Lyons and one sister Janelle Garner. 

Honoring Mrs. Rasberry as pallbearers will be Morgan Smith, Brandon Rasberry, Collin Smith, Deven Nelson, Tanner Lutz, and Paul Garner. Honorary pallbearers will be Garry Gamble, Jr. and Michael Ames.
