Barbara Ann Nichols Tate, 79, of Troy, Tennessee, died on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at NHC Healthcare in Milan, Tennessee.
Born Monday, December 10, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Rucker Nichols and the late Rosa E. Vaughn Nichols. Mrs. Tate was a retired employee of Town and Country Dry Cleaners in Union City, Tennessee. Barbara was an avid reader, her life was centered around her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Troy, Tennessee.
Cremation services for Mrs. Tate are under the direction of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Hollye A. Edmaiston (Aaron Jowers) of Trimble, Tennessee; two sisters, Margaret Meadows of Clinton, Kentucky and Lou Dotson (Horace) of Troy, Tennessee; and she was "Nanny" to her two grandchildren, Davey Edmaiston (Rachel) of Milan, Tennessee and Dallas Edmaiston (Sonja) of Union City, Tennessee and three great- grandchildren Coy Edmaiston, Ruby Ann Edmaiston and Dolly Tate Edmaiston.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rudy O. Tate; two brothers James Clyde Nichols and Bobby Nichols and one sister, Becky Coleman.
