Ardella Meeks, 88, of Dyersburg, Tennessee (formerly of Palmersville, Tennessee) died on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at her residence in Dyersburg, Tennessee.
Born on Thursday, November 7, 1935, in Dyer County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late John Vernon Joslin and the late Gurtha Mae Pratt Joslin. Mrs. Meeks was a member of Hodges Chapel Church in Palmersville, Tennessee. She was a former employee of Kellwood Manufacturing in Dresden, Tennessee, Martin Manufacturing in Martin, Tennessee and was the custodian for Hamilton-Ryker of Martin, Tennessee. Mrs. Meeks was known for kindness and devotion to her family.
Funeral services for Mrs. Meeks will at held at 12:00 on Saturday, October 5, 2024, in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Rev. Mike Brown. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Newbern, Tennessee. Visitation for Mrs. Meeks will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.
She is survived by one son, Johnny Hawks (Charlotte) of Dyersburg, Tennessee, one daughter, Vickie Crabtree (Tony) of Latham, Tennessee, two sisters, Marcella Mallard of Flint, Michigan and Monette Joslin of Dyersburg, Tennessee and she was "Nanny" to her eleven grandchildren, Christopher Lee Hawks, Gregory Deshawn Hawks, Kalie Paige Hawks, Michael Ogden, Tyler Eaves, Scotty Stutts, Shawna Bishop, Felica Crenshaw, Brandon Reynolds, Christy Long and Jonathon Reynolds and fourteen great grandchildren that she loved dearly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Meeks; son, James Robert Hawks; daughters, Donna Jean Eaves and Darlene Crenshaw; brothers, Mackie Joslin, Fentress "Primp" Joslin, Jesse Joslin, Cysler "Cat" Joslin and Everett Joslin and sisters, Patsy Connell and Frances Stephens.
Honoring Mrs. Meeks as pallbearers will be family and friends.
