Annie Laverne Holland Obituary

Annie Laverne Holland, 91, of Dyersburg,Tennessee died on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at her residence in Dyersburg, Tennessee.

Born Sunday, April 24, 1932, in Dyersburg, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Slaughter and the late Ophlia Montgomery Slaughter. Mrs. Holland was a former employee of Fancy Pants. She was a homemaker and decorator with many hobbies including sewing, crafting, and ceramics. Mrs. Holland was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and Women on Mission.

Funeral services for Mrs. Holland will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, February 9, 2024, in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be Bro. Shawn Allred. Interment will follow at Rehoboth Cemetery in Newbern, Tennessee, with Bro. Jeff Davis officiating. Visitation for Mrs. Holland will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Thursday, February 8, 2024, in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. 

She is survived by one son, Tommy Holland (Becky) of Bartlett, Tennessee; one daughter, Vicki Holland-Sutton of Troy, Tennessee; one brother, Charles Larry Slaughter (Kathy) of Bartlett, Tennessee and she was "Nana" to her six grandchildren:, Aleta Spence, Justin  Sutton, Anna Thomas,  Johnny Chenault, Miles Holland and Bronson Watson, four great-grandchildren, Quinton Spence, Chelsie Spence, Jaxxon Sutton and Kash Thomas and two great-great-grandchildren, Branson Spence and Adlee Spence.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of seventy-two years, Lee R. Holland; one son, Terry Lee Holland, one daughter, Lisa Holland-Watson, two brothers, Arthur Joy Slaughter and Jerry Lynn Slaughter, one sister, Shirley Waldron, one son-in-law, Terry Sutton and a great-grandchild.

Honoring Mrs. Holland as pallbearers will be Eric Maupin, Stefan Maupin, Quinton Spence, Casey King, Mark Waldron and Graham Waldron.
