Anna Sue Pierce Obituary

Anna Sue Pierce, 79, of Dyersburg, Tennessee, beloved mother, friend and faithful servant, died on Monday, May 12, 2025, at Tennova Healthcare-Clarksville in Clarksville, Tennessee. She leaves behind a legacy of love, joy and unwavering faith.

Born Tuesday, November 6, 1945, in Dyersburg, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Raymond "Kirt" Myers and the late Edith Darlene Buchanon Myers.

A proud graduate of Dyersburg High School, Anna Sue wore her Trojan spirit like a badge of honor—true and true. She was a familiar and enthusiastic presence on the sidelines at every football game her son played, never missing a chance to cheer for her #42 with boundless pride.

It was her great honor to serve her country in the United States Air Force. That spirit of duty and strength stayed with her throughout her life, reflected in her resilience, loyalty, and commitment to helping others.

Anna Sue had a heart built for giving. A natural nurturer and tireless volunteer, she was a prayer warrior whose radiant smile had the power to lift spirits. To be in her presence was to feel seen, loved, and better for it. Her deep love for God was the foundation of her life, which she built upon with joy, laughter, music, and a deep devotion to her family and friends.

She loved fishing with her husband Hubert, cherishing the outdoors and the memories they made together.

Music filled Anna Sue’s soul. She adored the sounds of the '70s and had a special fondness for The Beatles, Jerry Lee Lewis, the Bellamy Brothers, and especially Elvis Presley. Gospel hymns were her comfort, and Just A Closer Walk With Thee was her favorite. One of her most cherished memories was dancing in the kitchen with her son and listening to him sing and play the guitar.  On Mother’s Day, he honored her with song—favorites like Sittin’ on the Dock of the Bay and Drift Away—his concerts were a tradition that brought her immense joy.

Anna Sue found peace in the sound of the ocean waves and the simple beauty of quiet moments. She loved fully, laughed deeply, and gave of herself endlessly. Those lucky enough to know her were touched by her generosity, warmth, and unwavering support. She made all of us better by simply being who she was.

Her life was a beautiful melody—one that continues to echo in the hearts of those who loved her.
