Ann Hallum Obituary


Ann Hallum, 82 of Newbern, Tennessee died peacefully on Monday, February 10, 2020, at her residence in Newbern,Tennessee.
Born Friday, June 18,1937, in Trimble, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Ivey C. Parnell and the late Bonnie Parnell.  She was a retired employee of All-Wear Manufacturing.
Mrs. Hallum was a graduate of Obion High School where she played on the basketball team.  In her senior year, 1956, she was crowned "Miss Obion".  Ann was a long-time beloved member of the Assembly of God Church in Trimble, and she enjoyed reading her Bible every day.  She was a wonderful cook and her family will miss her biscuits, dressing, pies and dumplings.  She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and was an accomplished quilter.  An expert on the sewing machine, she sewed many quilts for family, friends, neighbors and children in foster care.  Also, she was a talented painter and her artwork is cherished by her family.  Ann loved cardinals and enjoyed feeding her "red birds" and watching them out her window.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hallum will be 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 15, 2020, at the Assembly of God Church in Trimble, Tennessee.  Officiating this service will be Rev. Chad Gibson.  Interment will follow in Poplar Grove Cemetery in Newbern, Tennessee.  Visitation will be Saturday, February 15, 2020, from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the Assembly of God Church in Trimble, Tennessee.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Terry Hallum (Diane), of Newbern, Tennessee; one brother,Tommy Parnell (Linda) of Trimble, Tennessee; one sister-in-law, Helen Parnell of Portage, Indiana; two grandchildren, Tyler Hallum (Amanda) and Heather Nunnery (Zachary Dozier); five great grand children, Austin Pyles (Sarah), Hadley Pyles, Waylon Reed Hallum, Noah Dozier and Jacob Dozier; three nieces, Dr. Selena Dozier (Greg), Jana Parnell and Sidonna Foust; two nephews, Mark Parnell and Shawn Parnell (Leanne); one great nephew, Isaac Parnell; two great nieces, Ivey Parnell and Magnolia Dozier; two special friends, Miss Dale (church) and Miss Tommie (quilting) and many other extended family members.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Enos Hallum, one daughter, Melinda Joy Hallum Harrison and two brothers, Billy Ray Parnell and Ivey Glenn Parnell (Linda),
