Albert "Al"D. Weldon Obituary

Albert "Al" D. Weldon, Sr., 76, of Dyersburg, Tennessee died on Saturday, April 10, 2021, at West Tennessee Healthcare-Dyersburg Hospital in Dyersburg, Tennessee.

Born Wednesday, October 11, 1944 in Sunflower County, Mississippi, he was the son of the late George Wesley Weldon and the late Sallie Callie Bowman Weldon. Mr. Weldon was the retired owner of Al's Muffler of Dyersburg, where he worked for thirty-one years. He was a member of the Lighthouse Apostolic Church in Greenfield where he served as a trustee for many years.

Funeral services for Mr. Weldon will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at the Lighthouse Apostolic Church located at 639 Evergreen Street in Greenfield, Tennessee. Officiating this service will be Rev. Robbie McCall, Rev. Jason Putman, Rev. Michael Putman, Rev. Jeff Smith and Rev. Lynn McCall. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Newbern, Tennessee. Visitation for Mr. Weldon will be held on Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home and on Thursday from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at the Lighthouse Apostolic Church in Greenfield, Tennessee.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, of fifty-four years, Joyce Scott Weldon of Dyersburg, Tennessee; two sons, Robert Earl Weldon (Krystal) of Dyersburg, Tennessee and Alan Scott Weldon  of Dyersburg, Tennessee;  one daughter, Amanda Gail Smith (Jeff) of Dyersburg, Tennessee; one sister, Ann Franks (Bill Don) of Sulphur, Oklahoma; one brother, Billy Lawrence Weldon (Pat) of Stillwater, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Albert Douglas Weldon, Jr.; two sisters, Lucille Downs and Minnie Belle Prichard; four brothers, George Weldon, William Earl Weldon, Jimmy Lee Weldon and Walter Weldon and three grandchildren.

Honoring their "PaPaw" as pallbearers will be Robert Weldon, Jr., Jesse Weldon, Aaron Smith, Chris Golden, Braydon Weldon and Joseph Scheetz.
