Tony R. Childress, Sr.

Tony R. Childress, Sr., 65, of Dyersburg, Tennessee, died on Saturday, May 25, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-East in Memphis, Tennessee.

Born Sunday, May 2, 1954 in Dyersburg, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Aubrey Thomas Childress and the late Gola Marie Sorrell Childress. Mr. Childress was the owner/operator of Ohio Valley Transport.

A memorial service for Mr. Childress will be held at 5:00 PM on Friday, May 31, 2018 in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Mr. Hunter Grills. Visitation for Mr. Childress will be Friday from 4:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Following the memorial service a time of fellowship will be held at Christ United Fellowship located at 5774 Millsfield Highway in Dyersburg, Tennessee.

He is survived by two sons, Tony R. Childress, Jr.(Krissy) of Chesterton, Indiana and Ryan C. Childress of Dyersburg, Tennessee; two daughters, Angela K. Gresh (Thomas) of Dyersburg, Tennessee and Alyssa N. Childress of Newbern, Tennessee; two brothers, Tom Childress (Kenna) of Schererville, Indiana and Barry Childress of Dyersburg, Tennessee; two sisters, Barbara Arndt of Stephenville, Texas and Marsha Brooks (Gary) of Hobart, Indiana; eleven grandchildren; one grandchildren who will soon join the family and five great-grandchildren.
