Shirley Doris Ables

Shirley Doris Ables, 74, of Dyersburg, Tennessee, died on Sunday, April 28, 2019, at West Tennessee Healthcare-Dyersburg Hospital in Dyersburg, Tennessee.

Born Wednesday, January 24, 1945, in Dyer County, Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late Captain Pollard Burns and the late Lillie Mae Parmenter Copeland. Mrs. Ables was a retired employee of Sylvania.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ables will be 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 in the Chapel of the Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Rev. Ronnie Turner. Interment will follow in Church Grove Cemetery. Visitation for Mrs. Ables will be Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

She is survived by one son, Robert Lee Ables of Dyersburg, Tennessee; one daughter, Polly Chamberlain of Dyersburg, Tennessee; one sister, Janie Simpson of Finley, Tennessee; two brothers, David Burns of Unionville, Tennessee and Roy Burns of Dyersburg, Tennessee; twelve grandchildren and twenty-nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Lynn Ables and three sons, Thomas Edward Ables, Larry Lynn Ables and Timothy Gerald Burns:three brothers, Tommy Burns, Nicky Burns and Paul Burns and two sisters, Carolyn Barrett and Mary Martin.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
