Rosalee Martindale Obituary

Ruth Rosalee Martindale, 77 of Newbern, Tennessee died on Saturday, August 25, 2018, at Dyersburg Health and Rehabilitation Center in Dyersburg, Tennessee.

Born Tuesday, March 18, 1941 in Vincennes, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Tapley and the late Edith Hansen Sampson. She will always be remembered for the love and care that she showed her family whether it was serving as a girl scout leader ,showing her support as their #1 fan at the activities they were involved with or just spending time with them. Mrs. Martindale was an active member of the Main Street Church of Christ in Newbern until her illness and had served as President for the Newbern Jaycettes.

Graveside services for Mrs. Martindale will be 1:30 PM on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at Poplar Grove Cemetery in Newbern, Tennessee. Officiating this service will be Mr. Bill Berry. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Jimmy Martindale of Newbern, Tennessee; three daughters, Joy Martindale Schwartz (Mike) of Cordova, Tennessee, Kim Martindale Rhodes (Randall) of Dyersburg, Tennessee and Tammy Martindale James (Bubba) of Dyersburg, Tennessee; two brothers, Richard Tapley of Indiana and Mike Tapley of Flordia; nine grandchildren, Ashley Martindale Camaso (Tim), Perilee Willis, Shane Thurmon (Stephanie), Justin James (Katie), Drew Thurmon, Bradley James (Emily), Blake James, Carley Rhodes and Alli Thurmon and nine great-grandchildren, Kaylee, McKenna, Beau, Jetson, Jennylyn, Houston, Paxton, Tristan and Tanner.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Bobby Martindale and five siblings.

Pallbearers will be Justin James, Brad James, Shane Thurmon, Drew Thurmon, Adam Baker and Tim Camaso.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105-9959.
