Roger Cathey

Roger Cathey, 67, of Friendship, Tennessee, died on Thursday, April 18, 2019, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee.

Born Tuesday, August 28, 1951 in Dyer County, Tennessee, he was the son of the late James Cathey and the late Lorene Kirk Cathey. He and his wife, Jo Ann, served as the music worship leaders for Cornerstone Church of God in Dyersburg, Tennessee; where he was a member.

Funeral services for Mr. Cathey will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will Dr. Randy Turpin and Rev. Carol Harville. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Newbern, Tennessee. Visitation will be Monday, April 22, 2019 from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Cathey of Friendship, Tennessee; one brother, Randy Cathey of Finley, Tennessee; one sister, Barbara Damons of Finley, Tennessee; his mother-in-law, Shirley Criswell of Newbern, Tennessee; three brothers in laws, Tim Criswell (Suzanne) of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, Don Criswell (Karen) of Newbern, Tennessee and Sam Criswell (Tracye) of Lexington, South Carolina and two sister-in-laws, Mary Cathey of Rochester, Kentucky and Donna Criswell of Jackson, Tennessee and a host of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, James Eugene Cathey and his father-in-law, Donald Criswell.
