Rev. Billy Freeman Hollis, 83 died on Saturday, February 10, 2018, at the home of his daughter, in Ripley, Tennessee.
Born Monday, December 24, 1934 in Bobwire, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Rev. William Edward Hollis and the late Eva Estell Presley Hollis. He was the retired owner of Bill's Auto Wrecker Service, had worked for several local body shops and operated two dump trucks that he used to haul for Ford Construction Company. Mr. Hollis was a Mason, former member of the Lion's Club and proudly served his country in the United States Army.
Graveside services for Rev. Hollis will be 1:30 PM on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg, Tennessee. Officiating this service will be Rev. Charles Halliburton. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Wednesday at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.
He is survived by two sons, Ricky Freeman Hollis and Scotty Lynn Hollis both of Finley, Tennessee; three daughters, Anita Faye Hollis of Orange City, Florida, Kimberly Rochelle Hollis Hardee of Ripley, Tennessee and Cynthia Gail Hollis of Lakeland, Tennessee; thirteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Shirley Hollis and one brother, William Eugene Hollis.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Scott Hale, Johnny Hammock, Jr., Jaxon Hollis, Steven Hollis, Edwin Cruz, Jerry Walker and Scottie Hale.
