O. W. Lovelace, 90, of Newbern, Tennessee died on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at Tennessee Veterans Home in Humboldt,Tennessee.
Born Tuesday, March 8, 1927, in Humboldt, Tennessee. He was the son of the late Frank Lovelace and the late Christell Cook Lovelace.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II and the Korean War. He was a retired employee of the VA Medical Center in Memphis Tennessee and member of Jones Street Church of Christ in Newbern being baptized in 1994.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, February 10, 2018, at the Jones Street Church of Chirst in Newbern, Tennessee. Officiating this service will be Bro. Jesse Webb. Interment will follow in West Side Cemetery in Kenton,Tennessee. Visitation will be Saturday, February 10, 2018, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Jones Street Church of Christ in Newbern,Tennessee.
He is survived by his wife, Lelia Mai Thacker Lovelace; one sister, Ora Lee Crooms of Humboldt, Tennessee; three step-daughters, Mary Roberson (Wilbert) of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Ella Watson of Covington, Kentucky and Juanita Mannis (Terence) of Newbern, Tennessee; five step-sons, Robert Watson (Lovie) of Elsmere, Kentucky, Bobby Watson of Dyersburg, Tennessee; Ronnie Watson of Lexington, Kentucky, Lester Watson of Toone, Tennessee and Earnie Watson of Dyersburg, Tennessee; one daughter-in-law, Jenell Watson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred Beatrice Mitchell Lovelace; two daughters, Willie Lovelace and an infant daughter; one sister; and one step-son, Jeff Watson.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Watson, Bobby Watson, Charles Sellars, Jerry Coleman, Larry Bryant and Mike Smith. Honoray pallbearers will be Jerry Vaughn, Lester Watson, Robert Watson and Wilbert Roberson.
