Miguel Casanova Cruz, 65 of Dyersburg, Tennessee died on Sunday, June 23, 2019, at his residence in Dyersburg, Tennessee.

Born Sunday, July 26, 1953 in Puerto Rico to the late Generoso Cruz and the late Margarita Casanova Nieves. Mr. Cruz was a disabled veteran who proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Funeral services for Mr. Cruz will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 28, 2019 in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Bro. Tommy Roper. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg, Tennessee. Visitation will be Thursday, June 27, 2019 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife, Maria Elena Cruz of Dyersburg, Tennessee; two sons, Israel Medina and Miguel Cruz, Jr. (Jennifer) all of Dyersburg, Tennessee; three daughters, Jessica Cruz of Bronx, New York, Maria Liggons (DeAngelo D.) of Friendship, Tennessee and Petra Cruz of Dyersburg, Tennessee; four brothers, Generoso Jr. Cruz Aponte, Generoso Jr. Cruz Casanova ,Generoso Jr. Cruz Bullat and German Cruz; five sisters, Daisy Margarita Quinones, Gloria Margarita Mendez, Wanda Lee Cruz, Luz Marleen Cruz and Enelida Ivette Cruz and twenty two grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by on daughter, Yanira Medina; one sister, Elba Iris Cruz and one brother, Edwin Figueroa, Sr.

Pallbearers will be Miguel Cruz, Jr., DeAngelo Liggons, Matthew Rigsby, Israel Medina, Edwin Lico Cruz, Carlos Colindres, Robert Medina and Joshua Medina. Honorary pallbearers will be John Vargas, Javier Rivera, Miguel Leon Cruz, Branson Rigsby, Carson Rigsby, Knowledge Glissen, Emmett Cruz, Manny Cruz, and Julian Medina.
