Martha E. Drane

Martha E. Drane, 100, of Newbern, Tennessee died on Wednesday, November 13, 2019, at her residence in Newbern, Tennessee.

Born Tuesday, June 3, 1919, in Rives, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late William Edwards and the late Rosa Troy Edwards. Mrs. Drane was a former employee of the Dyer County Circuit Court Office and former secretary for Ralph Lawson, Attorney at Law. She was a member of the Newbern First United Methodist Church where she served on various committees and was the former President of the United Methodist Women.

Funeral services for Mrs. Drane will be 11:30 AM on Saturday, November 16, 2019 in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Rev. Tyler Neely. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Newbern, Tennessee. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Cindy Drane Keller (L. B.) of Osceola, Arkansas.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Drane and one brother, Billy Joe Edwards.

Pallbearers will be John Uitendaal, Ben Allen, Joe Smith, David Allen, Dan Smith and Logan Fox. Honorary pallbearers will be R. C. Owens, James Wilkerson, Ted Johnson, Gerald Tidwell and members of the Newbern First United Methodist Church United Methodist Women.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be directed to the Newbern First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box # 72, Newbern, Tennessee 38059.
