Leon "Buddy" Poor Obituary

Leon "Buddy" Poor, 94 of Obion, Tennessee died on Friday, October 5, 2018, at his residence in Obion, Tennessee.

Born Wednesday, January 9, 1924 in Newbern, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Grady Poor and the late Tula Journey Poor. He was a retired plant engineer with A T & T, member of Oakridge Church of Christ and proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II.

Funeral services for Mr. Poor will be 1:00 PM on Monday, October 8, 2018 in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Bro. Rick Knoll and Rev. John Poor. Interment will follow in Yorkville Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, October 8, 2018 from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife, Martha R. Poor of Obion, Tennessee; one son, Mike Poor of Oakland, Tennessee; one step-son, Wayne Ashmore of Olive Branch, Mississippi; two daughters, Wanda Jones of Eads, Tennessee and Sandy McCall of Rossville, Tennessee; one step-daughter, Annette McAlister of Olive Branch, Mississippi; two brothers, John Poor of Troy, Tennessee and Grady Poor of Illinois; two sisters, Jean Simpson of Dyersburg, Tennessee and Ann Bell of Union City, Tennessee; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Wyaldean Holman Poor, two brothers, Harold Poor and Bob Poor and one sister, Mary Avant.

Pallbearers will be Dan Poor, Adam Poor, Joseph Jones, Tim Curtis, Ryan McAlister and John Carlton. Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Ferguson, Lowell Sanders and Mike Thomason.

The family ask that memorial contributions be directed to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105-9959.
