Joseph P. Shawver

Joseph P. Shawver, 68, Of Dyersburg, Tennessee, died on Thursday, September 26, 2019, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee.

Born Wednesday, September 5, 1951 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, he was the son of the late Ivan L. Shawver and the late Mary Edna Jones Shawver. Mr. Shawver proudly served his country in the United Army and was a member of Miller's Chapel Church of Jesus Christ.

Graveside services for Mr. Shawver will be 2:30 P.M. on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg, Tennessee. Officiating this service will be Pastor Jeff Smith and Pastor Ray Winstead. Visitation will be Friday, September 27, 2019 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Saturday from 12:00 PM until 1:45 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Pilkerton Shawver of Dyersburg, Tennessee; two sons, Bryan H. Shawver of Dyersburg, Tennessee and Ryan K. Shawver (Angelia) of Dyersburg, Tennessee; two daughters, Becky Wells (Kurt) of Newbern, Tennessee and Lori Beth Crowder (Daniel) of Dyersburg, Tennessee; three brothers, Larry Shawver (Melissa) of Fowlkes, Tennessee, Johnny Shawver (Brenda) of Newbern, Tennessee and Dewey Shawver (Cindy) of Dyersburg, Tennessee; two sisters, Annie Riley and Debbie Woodard both of Murray, Kentucky; nine grandchildren and four step-great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Peggy Lawson.

Pallbearers will be Larry Shawver, Johnny Shawver, Dewey Shawver, Clint Shawver, Ted Lowe and Brandon Rickman. Honorary pallbearers will be David Lewis and Josh Lewis.
