Jimmy Gatlin

Jimmy Gatlin, 77, of Dyersburg, Tennessee died on Thursday, December 20, 2018, at West Tennessee Healthcare-Dyersburg Hospital in Dyersburg, Tennessee.

Born Wednesday, March 12, 1941 in Dyer County, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Paul Gatlin and the late Grace French Gatlin. He was a retired employee of Dyersburg Fabrics, member of Emmaus Baptist Church and proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Funeral services for Mr. Gatlin will be 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 22, 2018 in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Rev. James Hooper. Interment will follow in Yorkville Cemetery in Yorkville, Tennessee. Visitation will be Friday, December 21, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

He is survived by one son, Randell Gatlin and his wife,Rebecca of Ripley, Tennessee; two daughters, Kimberley Gatlin of Dyersburg, Tennessee and Shelly Viar and her husband, Leon of Dyersburg, Tennessee; one brother, M. C. Gatlin of Medina, Tennessee; one sister, Madonna Sewell and her husband, Robert of Dyersburg, Tennessee and eight grandchildren, Bradley Gatlin, Paige Brewer, Austin Brewer, Tyler Viar, Kayla Viar, Elisa Viar, Hunter Viar and Ethan Gatlin.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Gatlin and one brother, Paul Glen Gatlin.

Pallbearers will be Robert Sewell, Scott Sewell, Jeff Gatlin, Leon Viar, Jimmy Hicks and Austin Brewer.
