Jimmie W. Martin, Sr.

Jimmie W. Martin, Sr., 69, of Hornbeak, Tennessee died on Sunday, October 13, 2019, at Oakwood Community Living Center in Dyersburg, Tennessee.

Born Tuesday, March 21, 1950 in Miston, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Duddley Martin, Sr. and the late Betty Jo Bartlett Martin. Mr. Martin was a devoted husband and a kind and loving father and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of his life. He was a retired employee of Ermco, member of Church Grove Baptist Church, a former member of the Newbern Fire Department enjoyed riding motorcycles and camping.

Funeral services for Mr. Martin will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Bro. Scott Sewell. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Newbern, Tennessee. Visitation will be Wednesday,

October 16, 2019 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Shirley A. St. Clair Martin of Hornbeak, Tennessee; seven sons, Richard Sturgill (Mary) of Newbern, Tennessee, James Russell Sturgill, Jr. of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Grant Martin (Tonya) of Kenton, Tennessee, Donald Martin of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Christopher Martin (Lori) of Hornbeak, Tennessee, Michael Martin (Erica) of Newbern, Tennessee and Jimmie Martin, Jr. (Leslee) of Dyersburg, Tennessee; one daughter, GiGi Moss (Randy) of Dyersburg, Tennessee; one brother, Duddley Martin, Jr. of Trimble, Tennessee; one sister, Sheila Martin of Dyersburg, Tennessee; twenty-three grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Nic Martin, Denver Martin, Nate Martin, Chris Martin, II, Wesley Martin and Tyler Martin. Honorary pallbearers will be Drew Reed and Lane Page.
