Jewell Baker Adams

Jewel Gibson Adams 88, of Trimble Tennessee joined her beloved husband JC of 65 years, and made her way to her eternal home in Heaven on Sunday evening, January 14th, 2018 at the Dyersburg Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Dyersburg, TN.   Jewel celebrated her 88th earthly birthday on Thursday, January 11th and celebrates her eternal birthday on January 14th.

Born on January 11th, 1930 in Hickman Kentucky to the late Ernest Gibson and Eva May Gibson of Hickman, Kentucky, Jewel had two sisters and four brothers.  She was an excellent homemaker, cook and enjoyed growing ferns and flowers.  She loved to entertain and cook for her family and was a loving and enduring wife, mother and grandmother and a blessing to her family.  She had many friendships with young and old alike in her community. In her days of good health, she cherished her friendships with her church family and ladies of her Sunday School Class.  She enjoyed attending church and the Newbern Saddle Club events with her husband JC.  She was a member of First Baptist Church Trimble. 

Funeral services for Ms. Adams will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, January 18th, 2018 at the Johnsons Williams Funeral Home in Newbern, Tennessee.  Officiating this service will be Pastor, Dr. Rick Isbell, Dr. Bill Oakley and Rev. Henry Callison.  Interment will follow at 3:00 PM at the Hickman City Cemetery in Hickman, Kentucky.  Visitation will be Thursday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM with service to follow at the Johnson Williams Funeral Home in Newbern, Tennessee. 

She leave to cherish her memory her son, Jimmy and wife Teresa, of Trimble, Tennessee Grandsons Dustin (Heather), of Trimble, TN, Daniel (Amy), of Dyersburg TN, Drew (Abbie) of Newbern TN and five great-grand children,  Cooper, Layla, Cayson, Emma and Ellie, one sister, Mary Jo Barnett and nephew, John Barnett of Hickman, Kentucky.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, JC Adams, her daughter Pamela Adams Wallace, one sister, Ilene Gibson, four brothers, Oscar Gibson, Eugene “Gippy” Gibson, Nugent “Nookie” Gibson and William A. Gibson.

Pallbearers will be Dustin Adams, Daniel Adams, Drew Adams, Cooper Adams, John Barnett and David Ring.  Honorary Pallbearer will be Cayson Adams.
