Jerry Seat Obituary

Jerry Lynn Seat, 63 of Newbern, Tennessee died on Friday, January 26, 2018, athis residence in Newbern, Tennessee.

Born Wednesday, March 17, 1954 in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of the late William Harris "Pete" Seat and Mary Anne Hendricks Seat. He was a 1972 graduate of Dyer County High School where he was a member of DCHS "Sound Of The Choctaws" Marching Band. Mr. Seat was a retired employee of Canteen Vending, served in the Tennessee National Guard and was always a supporter of all activites that involved his children. He was an avid fisherman and gardner.

Funeral services for Mr. Seat will be 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Dyersburg, Tennesse with Father Robert J. Stelllini officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Newbern, Tennessee. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:30 PM until 9:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Ann McDearmon Seat of Newbern, Tennessee; two sons, Paul Seat (Kelly) of Parker, Colorado and Adam Seat of Paris, Tennessee; two daughters, Celia Seat Hensley of Newbern, Tennessee and Suzanne Seat of Gleason, Tennessee; his mother, Mary Anne Seat of Adamsville, Tennessee; one brother, Danny Seat of Adamsville, Tennessee; one sister, Diane Blankenship of Adamsville, Tennessee and three grandchildren, John Andrew Hensley, Matthew Seat and Adalynn Seat.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Harris "Pete" Seat.

Pallbearers will be Paul Seat, Adam Seat, John Andrew Hensley, Tim Akin, Randy Morgan and Steve Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Seat and the Class of 1972 DCHS "Sound of the Choctaws" Marching Band members.

The family ask that memorials be made to the Dyer County Community Cancer Fund, P.O. Box #1055, Dyersburg, Tennessee 38024.
