James L. Hartsfield, 86, of Dyersburg, Tennessee died on Wednesday, October 23, 2019, at his residence in Dyersburg, Tennessee.
Born Monday, August 14, 1933 in Newbern, Tennessee.He was the son of the late Henry Ermon Hartsfield and the late Nannie Elizabeth Essary Hartsfield, He was the Co-Owner of Hartsfield Service and member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church.
A celebration of life visitation for Mr. Hartsfield ,will be held between the hours of 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at his residence located at 79 Harrison Lane, Dyersburg, Tennessee.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Lela Lemons Hartsfield of Dyersburg, Tennessee; four sons, Kevin Lytle Hartsfield of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Richard Lytle Hartsfield of Yorkville, Tennessee, James Anthony Hartsfield of Caruthersville, Missouri and Barry Lee Hartsfield of Selmer, Tennessee; a daughter by choice, Carla D. Coley of St. Louis, Missouri; one sister, Phila Sue Gatlin of Dyersburg, Tennessee; special friend, Michael Coley of Little Rock, Arkansas,several grandchildren, two grand girls by choice and several great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilmer Hartsfield and Henry Ermon Hartsfield and one sister, Ada Bell Hartsfield.
The family ask that memorial contributions be directed to the Community Cancer Fund, P. O. Box # 1055, Dyersburg, Tennessee 38025, Rehoboth United Methodist Church, 225 Rehoboth Church Road, Newbern, Tennessee 38059 or the charity of the donor's choice.
