James Edward "Ed" West, 94 of Trimble, Tennessee died on Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at The Delaney Georgetown Village in Georgetown, Texas.
Born Tuesday, July 10, 1923, he was the son of the late J.D. West and the late Maurine Phillips West. Mr. West was retired from the United States Air Force with 21 years' service in 1963. During WWII, he was assigned to the 20the Air Force as a B-29- Flight Engineer. During the Korean War, he was assigned to the 6th Troop Carrier Squadron as a C-54 Flight Engineer. He was also a retired self employed business man.
Survivors include his wife Dorothy (Dot) of over 71 1/2 years, one son, James E. West, Jr. and wife Wanette of Georgetown, Texas; one sister, Faye Stover of Newbern, Tennessee; one grand daughter Trisha West Gerdes and spouse Peter of Georgetown, Texas and two great grand children Luke James Gerdes and Josie Elizabeth Gerdes.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Dan West.
Funeral services for Mr. West will be 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 5,2018 at Trimble First Baptist Church. Officiating the service will be Dr. Rick Isbell. Interment will be in Pierce Cemetery in Trimble, Tennessee. Visitation will be Monday, June 4, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Luke Gerdes, Peter Gerdes, Reed Walton, Jr., Jim Coy Houston, Marvin Dunlap and Gary Houston. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Moore and Kenneth Galloway.
