James Alfred Hicks, 70 of Newbern, Tennessee died on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at his residence in Newbern, Tennessee.
Born Wednesday, February 12, 1947 in Dyer County, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Alfred Hicks and the late Alice Christine Hall Hicks. He was a farmer and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Graveside services for Mr. Hicks will be 12:30 PM on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Rehoboth Cemetery. Officiating this service will be Bro. Perry Grills, Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Anita Carroll Stafford Hicks of Newbern, Tennessee; two sons, Jonathan Alfred Hicks and Michael Travis Hicks both of Newbern, Tennessee; three brothers, Ronnie Hicks of Brusly, Louisiana, Hugh Hicks of Yorkville, Tennessee and Gerald Hicks of Newbern, Tennessee and one sister, Ronda Daniels of Dallas, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Chris Sentell, Jimmy Sentell, Clark Reagan, Dewayne French, Chad Williams and Brent Roberts. Honorary pallbearers will be Montie Rogers, Richard Donner, Jere Pierce and Joe Hall.
