Franklin Wayne Mitchell

Franklin "Wayne" Mitchell, 83 of Dyersburg, Tennessee died on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at Maple Ridge Assisted Living Center in Dyersburg, Tennessee.

Born Thursday, November 8, 1934 in Gibson County, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Erby Clifford Mitchell and the late Lena Burpo Mitchell. He was a retired employee of Dyersburg Fabrics, attended Riverwoods Church and proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Funeral services for Mr. Mitchell will be 1:00 PM on Friday, January 12, 2018 in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Rev. Kevin Sellers. Interment will follow in Sorrell's Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

He is survived by one daughter, Reginia Marie Murray (Tony) of Dyersburg, Tennessee; a daughter by choice, Daniell Welch of Dyersburg, Tennessee; two brothers, Erby Mitchell (Shirley) of Newbern, Tennessee and Jerry Mitchell of Dyersburg, Tennessee and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his two wives, Margaret Mitchell and Carolyn Mitchell; three brothers and two sisters.
