Flossie Cobb Jones, 95, of Dyersburg, Tennessee died on Thursday, August 15, 2019, at West Tennessee Healthcare-Dyersburg Hospital in Dyersburg, Tennessee.
Born Monday, January 21, 1924 in Dyer County (Unionville), Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late William G. Cobb and the late Parnie Strawn Cobb. Mrs. Jones was a 1942 Graduate of Dyersburg High School and in 2017 she was inducted into the Dyersburg High School Hall of Honor. She was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church in Dyersburg, Tennessee.
Funeral services for Mrs. Jones will be 4:00 PM on Monday, August 19, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Dyersburg, Tennessee. Officiating this service will be Dr. Steve Gaines and Rev. Mike Hickman. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg, Tennessee. Visitation will be Monday from 2:00 PM until service time at the First Baptist Church in Dyersburg, Tennessee.
She is survived by three sons, Jimmy W. (Linda) Jones, Jr. of Newbern, Tennessee, Terry Jones of Amarillo, Texas and Jack L. (Kay) Jones of Wayne, Oklahoma; one daughter, Becky (Jim) Hamilton of Dyersburg, Tennessee; ten grandchildren, Jolie (Jeff) Agee, Kelly (Jason) Boswell, Amy (Shawn) Tatro, Jim (Karen) Jones, Emily (Matt) Louis, Claire (John) Phillips, Catherine Hamilton, Whitney Jones , Ceri Ward and Paige Jones and fourteen great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Jones, Sr., two brothers, Shawnee Cobb and Rev. Clyde Cobb and three sisters, Millie Barnett, Bertha House and Jewell Brown.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Agee, Jason Boswell, Jim Jones, Jim Hamilton, John Phillips and Cooper Caldwell. Honorary pallbearers will be John Hart, Jack Claiborne and Tom Jayroe.
