Edward Earl Davis, affectionally called "Pop" by his grand-daughters, 74, of Newbern, Tennessee died on Saturday, July 13, 2019, at Dyersburg Health and Rehabilitation Center in Dyersburg, Tennessee.
Born Thursday, June 7, 1945 in Dyersburg, Tennessee, he was the son of the late James Claude Davis and the late Sarah Frances Price Davis. He was a retired electrician for Electric Motor Service, former member of the Newbern Jaycees, member of the Newbern Volunteer Fire Department for many years, avid deer hunter and helped establish little league baseball in Newbern, Tennessee. Being a coach was one of the highlights of his life.
Graveside services for Mr. Davis will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, July 15, 2019 at Fairview Cemetery in Newbern, Tennessee. Officiating this service will be Rev.Mark Warren. Visitation will be Sunday, July 14, 2019 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Carol Hinson Davis of Newbern, Tennessee; one son, Chad Edward Davis (Amy) of Newbern, Tennessee; two sisters, Frances Flatt ( Fred) of Tupelo, Mississippi and Myra Sue Davis of Memphis, Tennessee; a sister by choice, Brenda Spence of Newbern, Tennessee and two grandchildren, Sara Davis and Kate Davis both of Newbern, Tennessee.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Tracy Neil Davis; one brother, George Allen Davis and one sister, Penny Story.
Pallbearers will be Edward Pledge, Jeremy Hinson, Jody Hinson, Brent Hinson, Paul Flatt, Fred Flatt and Mike Ingram. Honorary pallbearer will be James Edwards.
