Dorothy "Dot" West, 92 of Trimble, Tennessee went to her heavenly home on Monday, September 9, 2019 at St. David's Hospital, Georgetown, Texas.
Born Sunday, November 28, 1926, in Trimble, Tennessee she was the daughter of the late Jim Lee Crouson and the late Josie Nevil Crouson. Mrs. West was a homemaker and longtime member of Trimble First Baptist Church where she volunteered in many programs, including nursery care and VBS. She also was a member of the Trimble Women's Club. Additionally, Miss Dot had been very active in Trimble and Dyer County Senior Activities for many years. She was active in the Dyer County Relay for Life, helped distribute Easter Eggs at Trimble Elementary and participated in a "Walk Across Tennessee" program where she weekly recorded miles she had walked. Miss Dot was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and sister. She was famous for her homemade pies, cakes, cookies and fried pies. She will always be remembered for her smile and great sense of humor.
Funeral services for Mrs. West will be 10:00 AM, Monday, September 16, 2019, at Trimble First Baptist Church in Trimble, Tennessee. Officiating this service will be Dr. Rick Isbell. Interment will follow in Pierce Cemetery in Trimble. Visitation will be Sunday, September 15, 2019, from 2:00 until 4:00 PM at

Survivors include one son, James E. West, Jr. and wife Wanette of Georgetown, Texas; one sister, Betty Jo King of Kenton, Tennessee; one grand-daughter, Trisha West Gerdes and husband Peter of Georgetown, Texas and two great grand-children, Luke Gerdes and Josie Gerdes of Georgetown, Texas.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James E. West, Sr.; two brothers, Harry Crouson and Tom Crouson; and three sisters, Edith Hammonds, Opal Bell and Helen Walton.
Pallbearers will be Reed Walton,Jr., Lee Bell, Charles Crouson, Peter Gerdes, Luke Gerdes, and Jim Coy Houston
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Trimble First Baptist Church, P. O. Box 187, Trimble, Tennessee.
