Dorothy Enochs

Dorothy Ann (Sanders) Enochs, 96, of Newbern, Tennessee died and received into heaven Saturday, January 11, 2020, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Born Saturday, September 22, 1923 in Lenox, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Andrew Sanders and the late Vada Ann (Overby) Sanders.

She was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church in Newbern, Tennessee. She, alongside her husband, J. R., devoted their lives to the farm life and to their family. Her love of others and faith in God was unwavering. Mrs. Dorothy blessed us all throughout her life with her talents and caring ways.

Services for Mrs. Enochs will be at Johnson-Williams Home Chapel at 3:00 PM on Saturday, January 18, 2020. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Newbern, Tennessee. Officiating the service will be Brother Tyler Neely. Visitation will be Friday, 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM and on Saturday from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary Elizabeth Enochs Sayer of Saraland, Alabama and Helen Clair Enochs of Dyersburg, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Scott Brown (Stephanie), Laura A. Brown, Christopher W. Davis (Christie), and Tracy R. Sayer; five great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Robertson Enochs, Jr., In-laws, Josephs R. Enochs, Sr. and Mary (May) Enochs, one daughter, Jo Ann Enochs Brown, one grandson, Joseph Bartley Davis, two sons-in-Law, James N . Sayer and Cecil J. Brown, and one brother and sister-in-law, Julius and Hyacinth Sanders.

Pallbearers are Joe Enoch, Scott Ferguson, Jay Johnson, Matt Johnson, Jeff Jones, Randall Norville, Brian Pope, Bruce Pope. Honorary Pallbearers are Johnny Johnson, Ted Johnson, Mike Underwood.
