David L. Newsom

David L. Newsom, 80 of Newbern, Tennessee died on Tuesday, October 22, 2019, at his residence in Newbern, Tennessee.

Born Saturday, October 7, 1939 in Richwoods Community, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Charles William Newsom and the late Liddie Mozelle Stover Newsom. Mr. Newsom was a retired millwright for LTV Steel and proudly served his country in the Indiana National Guard Reserve and the United States Army. He was well know in our community for his love of the game of pool.

Funeral services for Mr. Newsom will be 1:00 PM on Sunday, October 27, 2019 in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Mr. Ted Gentle and Mr. Patrick Williams. Internment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Newbern, Tennessee. Visitation will be Saturday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

He is survived by his care-giver and great-great-nephew, Theron Gean of Newbern, Tennessee; his caregivers, niece Brenda Enochs of Dyersburg, Tennessee and great niece and her family, Pennie, Ryan and Macey Gean of Newbern, Tennessee. Other survivors include a host of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great nieces and great-great-nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wives, Wanda Newsom and Annette Newsom; four brothers, Jacob Aster Newsom, William Sullivan "Bill" Newsome, John Everett Newsom and Elvin Dale "Bronco" Newsom and two sisters, Martha Newsom Hancock and Geneva E. Newsom Gilliland.

Pallbearers will be Blake Burg, Rob Burg, Ted Gentle, David Pitts, Doug Cook, Johnny Leach, Ryan Gean and Ronnie B. "Tarzan" Harris. Honorary pallbearers will be Anthony "ToJo" Lemons, Tom White, Jerry Newsom, Wallace Kennedy, Billy Moody and P. W. McCullough.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that memorial contributions be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
