Christopher "Chris" Curtis

Christopher "Chris" Curtis, 37 of Memphis, Tennessee, formerly of Newbern, Tennessee died on Sunday, March 25, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-East in Memphis, Tennessee.

Chris was a graduate of Dyer County High School and was a server for Mr. Jake Shore at Westy's in Memphis, Tennessee and an accomplished musician, singer and songwriter. Chris was a special, loving, and talented soul who touched the lives of so many people. He was a great son, brother, friend and musician. He wrote his music from his heart through life experience as a ballad of his thoughts. His music is heard by many people that loved him. We as his family, are so blessed to have had him in our hearts, and lives. We are and will be forever changed and heartbroken. God Bless our beautiful, son and brother. May he rest in peace.

A celebration of life service for Chris will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, April 2, 2018 in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Chaplain Brent Pearce and Ms. Lisa Butler. Visitation will be Monday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Lisa Butler of Newbern, Tennessee; his father, Kenny Curtis of Newbern, Tennessee; one brother, Kevin Curtis of Newbern, Tennessee and his paternal grand-parents, J. T. and Juanita Curtis of Dyersburg, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Grady and Mable Shelton.
