Mrs.Christene Malinda Douglas Cummings, from Alsip Illinois, died

July 27, 2018 at Palos Hospital in Palos Illinois. She was 85 years old and the widow of the late Bobby Cummings, of Dyersburg Tennessee, who died in 1970. She was born in Newbern, Tennessee to the late Arthur and Amanda Douglas. Mrs. Cummings retired from Carson Pirie Scott of Bedford, Illinois after 20 years of service. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Alsip, Illinois.

Funeral services For Mrs. Cummings will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 in the Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Rev. Phillip Sean. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg Tennessee. Visitation for Mrs. Cummings will be from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM on Tuesday and on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

She leaves to cherish her memory, five sons Gerald (Jerry )Richard and Donald Cummings both of Alsip Illinois, Phillip (Laura )of Chicago Ridge Illinois, Scott Cummings (Lisa )of Newbern Tennessee; two daughters Patricia (Gail )Cummings Horn (Thomas) of Huntington Tennessee and Debbie Cummings Morley (Paul) of Bourbonnais Illinois; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren, three sisters Maxine Crenshaw of Newbern , Tennessee, Angeline(Conan)Standridge of Paducah, Kentucky and Sylvia Rowsey of Dyersburg. Tennessee.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons and her son-in-laws.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by four brothers, Bob, Oliver, Marlin and Melvin and two sisters, Irene and Ursula.
