Billy Joe Ferguson

Billy Joe Ferguson, 79 of Newbern, Tennessee died on Saturday, June 23, 2018, at West Tennessee Healthcare-Dyersburg Hospital in Dyersburg, Tennessee.

Born Wednesday, April 19, 1939 in Dyersburg, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Aaron Dallas Ferguson and the late Coelia Harrington Ferguson. He was the co-owner of Ferguson Farms and member and Deacon of Harmony Baptist Church.

Funeral services for Mr. Ferguson will be 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Rev. James Combs and Rev. Tim Fair. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Newbern, Tennessee. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

He leaves to cherish his memory one son, Timothy Joe Ferguson of Newbern, Tennessee; one daughter, Tonia Joan Hill (Carl) of Newbern, Tennessee; four grand-daughters, Tessa Pyles (Ashley), Tabatha Smith (Doug), Kimberly Sauer and Trista Wilkerson (Taylor) and five great-grandchildren, Tailar Pyles, Lane Pyles, Wyatt Smith, Trenton Sauer, Katie Dunn and soon to join the family in September, Tate Wilkerson.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Myrna Joan Blessing Ferguson; one daughter, Tracy Lynn Ferguson; two brothers, Jack Ferguson and Jim Ferguson and one sister, Bobby Ruth Ferguson.

Pallbearers will be Donnie Scobey, Roger Page, Richard Weatherly, Moncie Hall, Lloyd Bell, Malcolm Burchfiel, Alan Burchfiel and Walter Jowers. Honorary pallbearers will be E. W. Avery and James Crosno.
