Betty Jane Thorpe

Betty Jane Thorpe, 55 of Dyer, Tennessee died on Monday, November 19, 2018, at her residence in Dyer, Tennessee.

Born Saturday, September 21, 1963 in Chicago, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Alton A. King and Betty Jean Hurt King. She was a home-maker and former deli cook for Exxon in Newbern, Tennessee.

Funeral services for Ms. Thorpe will be 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, November 24, 2018 in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home . Officiating this service will be Rev. Jerry Stafford. Interment will follow in Yorkville Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

She is survived by one son, John Paul Thorpe (Casey) of Kenton, Tennessee; one daughter, Mary Medley of Dyer, Tennessee; her companion, Jimmy Anderson of Dyer, Tennessee; five brothers, David King of Yorkville, Tennessee, Aquila King of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Jon Thomas King of Yorkville, Tennessee, Mike King of Dyer, Tennessee and Junior King of Sharon, Tennessee; three sisters, Becky Staggs of Ripley, Tennessee, Diane Bradford of Dyersburg, Tennessee and Olga Press of Indiana and five grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Sharon Kay King.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Adam Staggs, Josh King, Sam Petrie, Richard Bradford, David King, Justin Canada and Danny Allmon. Honorary pallbearer will be John David King.
